With a 150-year heritage in delivering industry-leading sleep solutions, we own iconic brands including Serta®, Beautyrest®, Tuft & Needle® and Simmons®.What You'll Do:Responsible for supporting data and analytics initiatives with the Director, Category Leadership that supports the growth of Serta Simmons Brand across various retailers and channels. • Create detailed business and competitive analysis, outlining problems, opportunities, and solutions for business improvement. • Act as an internal strategic consultant and business intelligence expert to executives, business units, and other senior leadership to support data-enabled, market-backed decisions.• Develop and apply an annual vision and strategic plan for the competitive intelligence function that consistently drives continuous improvement and evolution toward a world-class function across customer-related research, competitive and market intelligence, scenario/implications/insights development and strategic analytics. • Proactively identify and communicate new growth opportunities or emerging risks. • Guide prioritization of intelligence projects and resource allocation based on strategic alignment.• Build business intelligence reporting solutions that include dashboards, standard reporting, ad hoc query, and data discovery. • Keep a pulse on latest information consumption, competitor intel, and industry trends. • Build and maintain dashboards for senior leaders and cross functional organizations for weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings. • Support sales teams with analytics, demographics, and category insights that craft stories to enhance the SSB bed of share with customers. • Planning and monitoring sales, promotions, and marketing investments, while reporting on key metrics that drive sales performance.How You'll Do It:• Assist in development of pricing and forecasting tools to improve SSB and customer performance. • Conducts research to gather information on various issues from sources such as Internet, trade shows and business journals. • Prepare presentation materials and make effective presentations using appropriate toolsIn addition to performing competitive, financial, and operational modeling, the Manager, Business and Competitive Intelligence is expected to develop new models that underpin sound business decisions.They will streamline and improve internal and external reporting. This position will also drive fresh initiatives for business planning and business intelligence systems that are both internal and external facing to support the growth of Serta Simmons Bedding and the retailer. The end goal is to provide business and competitive insights that help the decision-making process and align capital and resource allocation within the business budget. What You'll Bring:• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing Research, Business, Economics, Management, Supply Chain, or a related field• 3-5 years of experience; minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar capacity• Ability to understand research and insights, translating them into actions• Problem solver with a solution-oriented mindset• Self-starter with the drive, determination, and ability to work independently.• Ability to multi-task and drive projects forward without a prescribed structure• Strong verbal and written story telling communication skills• Attention to detail, well-organized, and reliable• Experience with competitive analysis• Familiarity with (beginner/intermediate skills) SQL, BI tools (preferably Power BI) and Excel (pivots, macros, etc.)• Familiarity with data warehousing and data manipulation (ETL vs ELT)• Ability to work with senior decision makers• Desire to work with analytics, strategy, and business planningJob Factors/Work Environments• Strong technology, analytical, and communication skills are must-have traits.• Microsoft Office competencies (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)• Comfortable and capable presenting material to cross-functional groups• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to tailor communications depending on audience• This role also calls for a strong understanding of business reporting as well as experience in forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis combined with understanding of key performance indicators. • Up to 15% travelWhy work at Serta Simmons Bedding?When you join SSB, you become part of a winning and diverse team that is excited and committed to helping people get better sleep.
