AVIATION HISTORY AND STORYTELLINGWe are seeking a skilled and specializedRemote Video Editor for a contract position editing YouTube video content from provided footage. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of narrative storytelling, expert technical proficiency with remote file sharing, and, most critically, demonstrated expertise in aviation, aerospace, engineering, or historical storytelling (documentary/non-fiction or event coverage). This initial contract is for one specific video project, with the strong potential for a long-term, high-volume relationship to clear a massive backlog of footage intended for 5-10 minute YouTube videos.The primary goal is to transform rough interview footage and B-roll into compelling, high-quality, narrative-driven short-form video content suitable for a professional YouTube audience. Initial Project: One (1) complete 5-10 minute video, from rough cut to final export. Ongoing Potential: If successful, a steady pipeline of subsequent 5-10 minute videos. Deliverables:- One high-resolution (e.g., 4K or 1080p, specified in brief) final H.264 video export- All project files (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro project file) are organized and ready for archiving.Key Responsibilities- Narrative Storytelling: Analyze hours of raw interview footage and B-roll to identify the strongest narrative threads, create a coherent story structure, and craft a compelling final edit. -Remote File Management: Efficiently download, organize, and manage high-quality source footage provided via Frame.io. Must be comfortable with remote collaboration tools. - Video Editing: Execute all phases of post-production, including:- Rough Cut: Establishing the narrative flow and structure.- Fine Cut: Refining timing and pacing. - Sound Design/Mixing: Music Selection and placement - Basic audio sweetening, balancing interview audio with music and sound effects. - Color Correction/Grading: Ensuring consistent and professional visual quality.
