Technical Sales Engineer – Metal Fastening Products (Remote)Location: Illinois, USA (Remote work available)Employment Type: Full-TimeSalary Range: $80,000 – $120,000 (commensurate with experience)Industry: Metal Fasteners / Manufacturing / EngineeringA global sourcing company is seeking a Sales Engineer to join our Illinois team. In this role, you will serve as the technical backbone of our commercial operations—providing engineering expertise to support customer projects and product quotations.You will collaborate closely with both customers and suppliers to ensure that technical requirements are clearly defined, feasible, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in threaded cold headed fasteners and a strong foundation in CAD, metallurgy, plating, and heat treatment processes. Job Description:• Join sales calls as needed to provide technical support and present the company's business model and capabilities. • Build strong supplier knowledge through site visits to support commercial teams and customers effectively.• Act as the engineering liaison between customers and subcontractors on product design, application, and performance. • Conduct fastener application studies and generate technical reports. • Identify and support VA/VE bolthires reduction opportunities through line walks and direct customer engagement. • Foster strong relationships with customers' engineering teams to support early involvement in new projects. • Assist with new product development, launches, and provide technical training to the company's staff.• Interpret engineering drawings and specs; support 3D CAD software needs for the commercial team. • Perform other tasks as assigned based on evolving customer or business needs. Qualifications:• Bachelors' degree a Engineering field is highly desired. • Over 2 years of working experience with fastener manufacturer. • Strong knowledge of threaded cold headed fasteners, CAD, metallurgy, plating, and heat treatment. • Be proficient in blueprint reading, including GD&T, and the usage of common inspection tools (caliper, micrometer, thread gages, etc.)• Proficient skills in bolthires Office and related operating system software and engineering related programs (especially 2D and 3D construction techniques).• Travel as needed. #LI-DNI Apply tot his job
