Telemetry RN in Longmont, CO

A nursing opportunity is available for an experienced RN with Telemetry skills to support a specialized transplant and stepdown unit. This contract position is based in Longmont, CO, with shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, designed to provide critical care to patients recovering from solid organ transplants. The unit cares for up to 34 patients with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3-4, supported by a team of dedicated healthcare professionals. You will work alongside charge nurses, CNAs, and patient sitters, employing advanced medical equipment including bladder scanners, AccuVein devices, and various mobility lifts.The electronic medical records system used is Meditech. Key Qualifications and DesiredExperience:• Registered Nurse with Med/Surg and Telemetry experience• Competence in managing patients on Heparin infusions and PCA pumps is required• Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience is preferred• Experience in solid organ transplant care (kidney, liver, pancreas) is highly valued• Ability to perform wound and drain care including wound vacs, chest tubes, and Jackson-Pratt drains• Strong multitasking skills with adaptability in a fast-paced clinical environmentResponsibilities include:• Delivering high-quality nursing care to transplant and stepdown patients• Monitoring and managing critical therapies and complex wound care• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes• Adhering to unit policies and guidelines to maintain compliance and safety standardsLocation Insight:Longmont, CO offers a scenic and vibrant community nestled between the plains and the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.It provides ample outdoor recreational activities, a welcoming atmosphere, and convenience to larger metropolitan areas, making it an attractive location for healthcare professionals seeking both career growth and quality of life.
