Senior Counsel - Corporate & Commercial

About the positionResponsibilities• Provide Effective Legal Services. • Generate qualitatively superior legal analysis, work product, and advice. • Provide legal advice and services that are relevant, practical, and meaningful to business units. • Become an integral partner to the Company's business units, understanding business strategies and commercial objectives. • Support the Company's mergers and acquisitions activities as well as day-to-day operating contracting efforts. • Work creatively and proactively with legal colleagues and the Company's business units to identify opportunities for commercially advantageous risk allocation in contracts.• Identify and implement proactive approaches to counseling business units on competition law and related topics, including statutory and regulatory obligations and compliance. • Be an active and creative participant in the Law Organization's legal training program. • Manage complex litigation and effectively partner with clients to develop, evaluate, and implement a litigation strategy. • Assist and support the Law Organization in a fast-paced and collegial corporate legal environment. Requirements• JD degree from an accredited US law school.• 10-15+ years of experience preferred. • Demonstrated antitrust and competition law experience required. • 3+ years' experience as in-house or transactional counsel is preferred. Nice-to-haves• Legal experience in commodity trading and commercial transactions. • Legal experience in mergers and acquisitions.
