Job Title : Linux Engineer/AdminLocation :Remote (Client is in Tuscaloosa Alabama) Some travel will be there (Mainly initially)Duration : 6 + MonthsJob Description :Qualifications:• The Linux Systems Administrator is responsible for the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and administration of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. • The position serves in the Office of Information Technology (OIT). • This position serves as a lead technician to provide advanced level systems engineering and administration to support the functionality and availability of enterprise-wide and mission-critical Client systems.Skills NeededThe successful applicant should have experience in(1) Linux systems administration,(2) shell scripting,(3) VMWare VSphere;(4) configuration management using Salt or other;(5) and MySQL/MariaDB or similar db management. The successful applicant should have excellent troubleshooting skills; be able to work independently to complete goals; and should have excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills. Preferred Skills:• Experience managing webhosting infrastructure using Apache and PHP on Linux highly preferred.• Experience with any of the following is a plus: SUSE Linux Enterprise and openSUSE; Kubernetes, Docker, and Rancher; SUSE Manager and/or Uyuni for configuration management; Zabbix monitoring; RADIUS, LDAP, A10 Loadbalancers; Dell PowerStore storage 11; and defined storage solutions such as BeeGFS, Ceph, and Gluster.
