It’s about proactive, strategic legal support and leading communications with third parties so that projects can be concluded in a way that is clear, fair and aligned with our legal strategy and values.You’ll work closely with our Technical Director and Project Manager to:- Lead and support communications with external parties in a way that persuasively presents our analysis and recommendations. - Articulate and advocate for our interpretation of contractual and commercial matters, helping third parties understand why it is reasonable and robust. - Help ensure stakeholders not only understand our position, but are confident in and aligned with our findings, so projects can be concluded fairly and transparently.- From time to time, you may also join meetings with clients and other stakeholders to present and explain our technical findings, help persuade parties to accept our interpretation of contractual matters, and ensure that agreements are concluded on a clear, fair and well-understood basis. Key Responsibilities- Lead correspondence with third parties to discuss and successfully conclude projects, especially where there is potential for competing legal or contractual interpretations. - Support the leadership team with strategic legal thinking across projects and initiatives, challenging “the way things have always been done” where appropriate.- Draft and maintain legal documentation, templates and playbooks that guide internal decision-making and help open up legal knowledge to non-lawyers. - Help anticipate and mitigate legal risks early, before they escalate into disputes. - Participate in internal and external discussions, providing clear, thoughtful and well-reasoned legal input that others can understand and act on. - Occasionally liaise with external legal counsel on more complex or specialist matters. About YouWe’re looking for someone who is an excellent communicator and a calm, persuasive presence in contract-related discussions.You’re someone who enjoys collaboration, is willing to question “standard” approaches where they aren’t fair or transparent, and takes ownership of seeing matters through to resolution. This role would suit a solicitor who:- Has strong written and verbal communication skills and can simplify complex legal principles and arguments so that non-lawyers feel informed and empowered. - Is comfortable discussing, debating and defending legal reasoning within a team and when dealing with third parties and external stakeholders on behalf of the company.- Is organised, pragmatic and proactive in spotting potential legal issues early, not just reacting when problems arise. - Takes full responsibility and ownership for the timely and fair resolution of matters. - Wants a flexible, remote role while still making a meaningful impact in a growing, purpose-led business.
