Database Administrator/Developer
About the positionResponsibilities• Manage and maintain database systems, including replication, triggers, jobs, and more. • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to database performance, security, and availability. • Develop and implement database solutions to meet customer needs and business requirements. • Create and maintain interfaces between disparate databases to ensure seamless data integration. • Perform data migrations and ensure data integrity during the process. • Monitor database performance and optimize queries for efficiency.• Partner with development teams to design and implement database schemas, stored procedures (SPS), and other database objects. • Ensure database security and compliance with industry standards and regulations. • Provide technical support and training to customers and internal teams. • Work with public safety agencies and first responders to know and address their unique data requirements. Requirements• Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role. • Excellent knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) and SQL.• Experience with database replication, triggers, jobs, and data migrations. • Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving technical database issues. • Familiarity with stored procedures (SPS) packages and creating/maintaining database interfaces. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Effective communication and customer service skills. • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).Nice-to-haves• Experience with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database). • Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus. • Expertise of data warehousing and ETL processes. • Knowledge of database security best practices. • Experience with database monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds). • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks. • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
