Backend Engineer — Ultra-High-Performing Onchain Trading Systems

You’ll design and scale core trading systems in Rust, NestJS, and Go, architect event-driven backends with Kafka, and make sure our infra runs like clockwork 24/7. This is not a “maintain what’s there” job — it’s* build, optimize, and own everything that matters.* What You’ll Do• Design and scale ultra-low-latency backend systems in Rust, NestJS, and Go• Architect event-driven pipelines (Kafka or similar) that move data instantly and safely• Optimize onchain trading infrastructure — nodes, indexers, relayers, RPC tuning, MEV-aware execution• Own bolthires/CD, monitoring, and system reliability for mission-critical services• Experience in monitoring tools like Datadog, Grafana, ELK, New Relic, etc is plus• Ship constantly.Improve relentlesslyWhat You Bring• 3-5+ years of backend experience (TypeScript, Rust, Go)• Proven track record with high-performance or onchain systems• Hands-on experience with trading infra, bots, arbitrage systems and blockchain data pipelines• Deep understanding of APIs, event streams, caching, and performance tuning• Obsession with clean, testable, and fast codeWho You Are• You’re resourceful, relentless, and precise. • You think in microseconds, not milliseconds. • You don’t wait for specs — you build, test, and ship until it’s perfect.• You’ll work hard everyday, learn fast, and build something world-class. • Join Velvet and help create trading infrastructure that never misses an opportunity.
