Attorney Needed to Defend Frivolous Contract Suit by Unlicensed Contractor (Tangonet LLC)
California Litigation Attorney Needed – Defend Frivolous Contract Lawsuit Filed by Unlicensed Contractor (Tangonet LLC)Title:⚖️ California Attorney Needed to Defend Frivolous Contract Suit & File Demurrer/Motion to Dismiss Against Unlicensed Contractor (Tangonet LLC)Description:We are seeking an experienced California litigation attorney (preferably Los Angeles–based) to defend a newly filed breach-of-contract action brought by Tangonet LLC against our general contractor, Phase 1 Construction LLC.We already have multiple active small claims lawsuits pending against Tangonet for unlicensed contracting, defective work, and violations of California’s Contractor License Law. Tangonet’s filing of this new lawsuit is a transparent, retaliatory, and frivolous attempt to create leverage. Key Facts About the Case:• Tangonet has filed a breach of contract complaint alleging ~$10,150 in unpaid invoices for low-voltage work. • Their own invoices and conduct demonstrate that they were acting as an unlicensed contractor on a construction project that required a valid CSLB license.• Under California Business & Professions Code §7031(b), unlicensed contractors cannot collect compensation and are subject to disgorgement, which is the basis of our lawsuits currently pending against them. • We have proof of their lack of licensure, and we also have their defective proposal, which fails to comply with statutory requirements and further bars their claim. • This new lawsuit should be disposed of quickly with:• A Demurrer,• A Motion to Strike,• Or another early-stage dispositive motion.• Our goal is rapid dismissal and shifting the discussion back to our active claims. What We Need From the Attorney:1. Review Tangonet’s Complaint (attached to this posting). 2. Advise on best early-disposition strategy (Demurrer, Anti-SLAPP if applicable, Motion to Strike, etc.). 3. Prepare and file a timely Answer OR demurrer (deadline is approaching—30 days to respond). 4. Potentially coordinate strategy with our existing litigation against the same entity. 5. Provide a fast turnaround—this is a straightforward case due to the clear unlicensed-contractor bar.Qualifications Desired:• California-licensed attorney. • Experience with construction law, B&P §7031, and unlicensed contractor disgorgement litigation. • Strong motion-practice skills; ability to knock out frivolous lawsuits early. • Comfortable coordinating with existing parallel lawsuits and understanding strategic positioning. Budget & Scope:We are open to hourly or fixed-fee arrangements depending on the attorney’s experience and proposed strategy. This should be a relatively contained engagement, as the case is expected to be dismissed at the pleading stage. To Apply:Please include:• Your California Bar number. • Relevant experience with construction-law disputes or unlicensed-contractor cases. • Example(s) of motions you’ve successfully used to defeat similar claims. • Estimated cost and turnaround time for drafting and filing the initial responsive pleading and/or demurrer.
