You’ll lead front-end development using React, TypeScript, and Next.js, collaborating closely with our Azure AI engineering team.This role is perfect for someone who loves creating refined, accessible, modern interfaces that will be used by thousands of faculty, students, and staff every day. Key Responsibilities• Lead development of a modern, responsive UI (chat interface, project pages, dashboards, settings). • Build reusable, accessible components in React + TypeScript using Next.js or similar frameworks. • Integrate the UI with APIs powered by Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, and RAG pipelines. • Implement client-branded themes, dark/light modes, and mobile-responsive layouts.• Ensure WCAG-compliant accessibility (ARIA patterns, keyboard navigation, focus states). • Manage front-end state, testing, and tooling (React Query/Zustand, Jest, RTL, Storybook). • Participate in architecture decisions, code reviews, and PR workflows. • Collaborate with UX/design partners to refine interactions, usability, and onboarding. Required Qualifications• 8+ years professional experience building web applications (JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3). • Deep experience with React and Next.js (routing, SSR/SSG, data fetching).• Proven ability to design and ship complex UIs (chat, dashboards, large-scale applications). • Strong understanding of responsive design & accessibility (WCAG 2.1/2.2). • Experience with Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress, and tooling (ESLint, Prettier). • Experience integrating secure APIs and authentication (OAuth2/OIDC, Entra ID/Azure AD). • Strong Git/PR workflow habits and comfort with bolthires/CD (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps). • Excellent communication skills and cross-team collaboration experience.Nice to Have• Experience with component libraries (Radix, Headless UI, MUI, Chakra, Tailwind). • Prior work on analytics dashboards or admin tools. • Exposure to LLM / generative AI, chat interfaces, or AI products. • Experience working with universities, public sector, or research organizations.
