We're looking for a legal expert with:• Deep expertise in U.S. customs/import law and CBP regulations• Law firm experience advising trade or transportation clients• In-house legal experience in logistics or supply chain (preferred)• Strong stakeholder advisory and executive communication skills• Experience in regulatory compliance affairs and internal investigationsYour Impact & Responsibilities• Lead legal advisory on U.S.customs/import regulations and international trade laws across DHL divisions. • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives and DHL Group Boards on regulatory risks and solutions. • Act as lead attorney on DHL's Global Customs Committee, driving compliance strategy and internal investigations. • Advise divisional heads and the Global Customs Office on best practices and corporate compliance structures. • Contribute to the development and implementation of the DHL Group Customs Compliance Manual. • Support DHL divisions in drafting and executing U.S.customs compliance strategies. • Monitor U.S. customs teams, identify compliance gaps, and lead corrective action plans. • Represent DHL before U.S. regulatory agencies including CBP, TSA, OFAC, BIS, DDTC, Homeland Security Investigations, and U.S. Congress. • Manage internal investigations, voluntary disclosures, and government audits (domestic and international). • Select and manage outside counsel for major investigations. • Collaborate with Corporate Public Affairs and commercial partners on regulatory matters.• Provide regular updates to Legal Department leadership in the Americas and globally. • Support regional legal teams on customs law and regulatory compliance across the Americas. Your Profile• J.D. from an accredited law school with 10+ years of legal experience. • Prior law firm experience advising trade, transportation, or logistics clients. • In-house legal experience in logistics or supply chain preferred. • Recognized expertise in U.S. customs/import law and CBP regulations. • Familiarity with TSA, BATF, and trade laws in Canada, Mexico, Brazil, etc.• Experience with DOJ and FISA subpoena inquiries. • Strong track record in stakeholder engagement and executive-level advisory. • Prior government experience is a plus but not required.
