At Avail, we are building a data availability layer used by developers and builders. The experience of building with Avail needs to be seamless and user friendly. For that, we need to have clear and easy to navigate documentation that helps them get their job done. At Avail, documentation is an integral part of the product. We are looking for a seasoned and talented technical writer with a passion for blockchain technology, modular architectures, dApps, and the Oxford comma. As a technical writer at Avail, you are going to work as part of the engineering team - closely and hands-on with software engineers building Avail.Using software and libraries as they are being built, providing feedback, and together with the team, creating and editing conceptual and developer documentation. The role requires good technical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Having empathy for the different product audiences, and reflecting that in priorities and information architecture. You need to be able to communicate complex technical concepts in simple and easy to follow terms. Responsibilities• Create comprehensive technical documentation, including user guides, developer tutorials, and API documentation for software engineers• Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather the necessary information for accurate and effective documentation• Develop external content tailored to diverse audiences, such as blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, and interactive developer guides• Review, test, and edit documents created by others to ensure they have clarity, consistency, and are up to date• Plan and manage complex documentation projects, overseeing information architecture and organization• Enhance developer documentation with relevant sample code to aid understanding and implementationQualifications• Full proficiency in the English language, with strong written and verbal communication skills• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently on highly technical projects• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a technical writer, possessing a personal style guide and a strong portfolio of writing samples• At least 1 year of experience with blockchain technology• Preferably at least a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science• Expertise in using Github and Markdown for documentation• Familiarity with static site generators such as Docusaurus, Gitbook, and ReadThe Docs• Experience with project management tools like Jira and Linear• Ability to read, understand, and work with source code written in JavaScript, TypeScript, Golang, Rust, and Solidity• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and React Native• Comfortable working in a UNIX environment and collaborating closely with software engineers on a daily basisBenefits• Work from anywhere (Remote first)• Frequent company offsites• Flexible working hours• Flexible vacation policy• CompetitiveSalary Apply tot his job
