Learn more about AIR's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategy and hear from our staff by.ResponsibilitiesTheSenior Technical Assistance Consultant will coordinate, support, and lead teams on projects related to special education systems and K-12 students with disabilities. This work will include interaction with state education agencies, district leaders, educator preparation programs, education cooperatives, and other education organizations. The work will also include the development and implementation of training and technical assistance (TTA) tools and processes designed to support clients with a range of needs.Responsibilities include:• Manage technical assistance and evaluation projects related to special education and K-12 students with disabilities that apply research and evidence with state and local entities, including setting timelines, managing teams, creating reports, and ensuring deliverables are completed with high levels of quality• Provide ongoing technical assistance and coaching to clients related to special education topics including but not limited to inclusion, instruction, intervention, assessment, data use, systems coaching, leadership, and workforce development• Develop high-quality training materials, toolkits, curricula, research briefs, and other resources focused on special education• Deliver effective in-person and virtual professional learning on special education topics• Serve as a subject matter expert, advisor, and/or thought partner to state leaders• Integrate effective project management and quality methods to manage fast-paced project of high complexity• Work with teams to develop competitive proposals for new projects related to special education• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships and relationships to grow business and project opportunities• Mentor and grow staff capacity to provide high-quality technical assistance• Write for publicationQualificationsEducation, Knowledge, andExperience:• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience; or a PhD with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in education• Minimum of 2 years teaching and school administration experience• Strong content knowledge of special education, including inclusion, instruction, intervention, assessment, data use, systems coaching, leadership, and workforce development• Experience developing and delivering professional learning content for teachers, interventionists, and school and district leaders via in person and online learning formats• Experience providing coaching to teachers and/or leaders• Experience managing projects or tasks• Experience with learning management systems (preferred)Skills:• Ability to balance multiple projects• Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgrounds• Publication record (preferred)• Successful federal and/or state grant writing expertise (preferred)• Ability to travel (~10%)Disclosures:Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S.on a full-time basis. Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the institution and external equity with competitive markets.
