The OpportunityWe are looking for a passionate and dedicatedSenior Data Scientist with strong technical skills and analytical experience for the Auto Consumer Originations Analytics team.This person will be responsible for estimating and monitoring various consumer auto originations credit risk metrics and their impact to indirect retail pricing. They will also assist with building tools for analyzing price sensitivities and optimizing pricing strategies. The ideal candidate is familiar with data science techniques and can apply them in a dynamic business environment to support decisions with direct impact to the bottom line. Knowledge of predictive analytics, SQL and big data management, SAS/Python/R programming are needed as the foundation for this role.The Work Itself• Share Best Practices in development of statistical and predictive analytics to ensure Ally has access to deep information across the organization. • Streamline third party usage and interface design of information dashboards to create consistency and efficiencies across the organization. • Use advanced coding to create predictive statistical and analytical models from the ground up. • Incorporate use of algorithms into analytics & modeling. • Ability to manipulate algorithms and advanced coding.• Experience with machine learning techniques and experimental design. • Strong statistical background and ability to create rigorous statistical model. • Pull large data sets from enterprise databases, enrich and transform them to support analysis and model development. • Assist with transitioning models and analytical processes to cloud platform. • Develop new methodologies and assumptions to improve results of predicted performance metrics. The Skills You Bring• 3+ years experience in an analytical role.Experience in financial services is preferred. • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field is required; advanced degree is ideal. • Experience with database programming tools (SaS/Python/R, SQL) required. Some experience with data visualization software is a plus. • Ability to organize and model large data sets to identify trends/insights as well as translate results into business recommendations. • Experience with statistical model development, validation/testing, implementation and performance monitoring.• Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments. • Able to prioritize and meet deadlines. • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
