[Remote] Lead Backend/Cloud Architect - GovTech Security Focus

AEROSENS Inc. is a dual-use aviation technology company developing advanced IoT solutions for both defense and commercial aviation markets. They are seeking a Lead Backend/Cloud Architect to design, implement, and secure a highly available and resilient cloud environment for their IoT data platform, focusing on stringent security and compliance standards. Responsibilities• Cloud Architecture & Deployment : Designing, implementing, and securing the entire core backend services layer in a highly available and resilient cloud environment (experience with AWS/Azure GovCloud preferred)• Mandatory Containerization : Defining the architecture for, and deploying, all cloud services fully containerized using Docker and Kubernetes to ensure scalability, resource isolation, and compliance with continuous monitoring requirements• Security & Compliance Leadership : Translating mandatory government security frameworks (NIST RMF, FIPS) into executable, hardened architecture.This includes designing and implementing robust audit logging, cryptographic verification, and data integrity controls across the platform• Data Pipeline Development : Developing high-performance, secure RESTful APIs for high-volume, asynchronous data ingestion from remote, constrained field devices• Core Systems Development : Building complex backend logic for automated event recognition, anomaly detection, and the alerting and notification engine used for real-time risk assessment• Infrastructure Tooling : Collaborating on the design and backend API for specialized remote device management tools to handle secure configuration, provisioning, and Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware updatesSkills• 5+ years in high-scale backend development, with 2+ years (desired) in a Lead or Architect role• Expert-level experience with Kubernetes/Docker in a production environment• Deep proficiency with modern backend frameworks (e.g., Python/Django, Node.js/Express, or Java/Spring Boot)• Demonstrable experience with database design (SQL/NoSQL) for high-volume, time-series data• Experience designing systems for, or supporting compliance initiatives like, FedRAMP, NIST, or DoD ATOCompany Overview• Cloud based management platform that provides real time visibility on the status of critical aircraft safety and security cabin equipment It was founded in 2017, and is headquartered in Miami, Florida, USA, with a workforce of 2-10 employees.Its website is Apply tot his job
