Patient and Equipment Transporter - St. Lukes Medical Center
About the positionResponsibilities• Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding and address any questions or concerns. • Reviews patient's medical record to confirm the ordered test and maintains active communication with physicians. • Prepares the patient for the procedure, applying surface electrodes and administering shocks to elicit evoked responses. • Records measurements of distances, amplitudes, latencies, and temperatures for physician review.• Distinguishes between normal and abnormal results, documents artifacts, and takes proper measures to monitor them. • Maintains accurate records and documentation when entering patient information into the computer system. • Organizes and prepares exam room/work area, including cleaning, stocking, and ordering supplies. • Performs routine care, cleaning, and calibration of equipment, reporting any malfunctions. • Performs patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper lifting techniques.• Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific care and assesses data reflective of the patient's status.
