Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to as a Medical Scribe in Emergency Medicine. As a Medical Scribe, you will work alongside healthcare providers in an emergency medicine setting, documenting patient information, capturing accurate diagnoses, and assisting with lab and radiology results. This is a remote opportunity, and we are looking for individuals who are able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Key Responsibilities • Accompany providers during patient visits to assist in documenting the provider assessment and exam • Become an expert in how to appropriately document patient history, physical exams, assessments, diagnostic results, medical procedures, treatment plans, and medical opinions of consultants • Interact with your provider to capture accurate diagnoses, pharmacy prescriptions, and patient follow-up instructions • Assist providers in obtaining lab and radiology results to help guide their patient care • Gain knowledge on how to discover past history and test results on patients which are critical in driving medical decisions by your provider • Understand the flow of patient encounters in your facility to assist the care team in making patient visits as efficient as possible • Perform a variety of other non-clinical tasks dependent on your provider's requests • Understand basic documentation requirements for the World Health Organization's International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) • Ensure compliance on all national and local patient privacy laws, including HIPAA and HITECH • Adhere to medical facility's compliance requirements and ScribeAmerica's company policies and procedures Essential Qualifications • Current enrollment in or completion of a medical or allied health program (or equivalent experience) • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs) and other software applications • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to patient privacy laws Preferred Qualifications • Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a related field • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy • Experience with ICD-10 coding and documentation • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Skills and Competencies • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs) and other software applications • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At ScribeAmerica, we are committed to providing our scribes with the training and resources they need to succeed in their careers.
