Jr. Transportation Planner/Data Scientist
About the positionResponsibilities• Conduct applied research in transportation planning and environmental planning. • Perform data and statistical analysis, developing new approaches for analyzing data and maintaining large datasets. • Develop databases and create data visualizations. • Document projects through technical reports and presentations. • Manage tasks and prepare internal and external presentations. • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements• Bachelor's Degree in statistics, engineering, planning, or other related field.• Four years of related experience. • Excellent oral and written communication skills along with interpersonal and presentation skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), database software (e.g., MS ACCESS, SQL, VBA), visualization software (e.g., Tableau), and statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, SAS). • ArcGIS skills and Python proficiency. • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. • Detail-oriented and a problem solver. Nice-to-haves• Master's degree in Statistics, Engineering, Planning, or other related field.• Six years of relevant work experience. • Experience in conducting applied research in transportation planning. • Strong data analytical/statistical skills. • Experience working with complex datasets and visualization software.
