The role involves designing and maintaining backend services, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and participating in the full software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services that support business-critical applications
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions and deliver impactful features
- Translate business and technical requirements into well-structured, maintainable, and scalable code
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from planning and design through to deployment and support
- Contribute to architectural decisions and propose improvements to existing systems and technical approaches
- Take part in code reviews to ensure high coding standards and share knowledge across the team
- Engage in Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, planning sessions, and retrospectives
Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- At least 2 years of relevant commercial experience in backend development
- Solid experience with Java 8/11/17+ for building robust and maintainable server-side applications
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot for developing modern, production-ready microservices
- Practical experience with Spring Cloud Stream for building event-driven microservice applications
- Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka, including topics, partitions, and consumer groups
- Solid understanding of event-driven architectures (EDA) and microservices design principles
- Experience working with distributed systems and high concurrency scenarios
- Good oral and written communication skills in English (B2+ level or higher)
- Experience with WebFlux and reactive programming for building non-blocking, high-performance applications
- Practical knowledge of RabbitMQ or ActiveMQ for messaging and asynchronous communication
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift for container orchestration and deployment
- Familiarity with Jenkins for building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Proficiency with Git for source control and collaborative code management
- Experience with SonarQube for continuous code quality inspection
- Background in the banking or finance sector to provide industry-specific insights
