IT Consultant and Mentor We are seeking the services of an IT Consultant, who has a solid background in SecOps, Network Administration, System Administration, and related activities, to work directly with the IT Administrator and to report to management. The project involves the following tasks: 1-Familiarize with and assess our current Network and general operating environment for its overall robustness and reliability; 2- Assess the current state of procedural documentation, determining its gaps and suggesting improvements where needed; 3- Assess the working organization of the IT Administrator/Support person, identifying both satisfactory and deficient practices and procedures and document how they can be improved 4- Provide guidance, advice, and ‘hands-on’ assistance to the IT Administrator/Support person to establish and execute a plan to properly organize his work: a.Networks and Servers/Infrastructure - Monitoring, maintenance and support of networks, servers, and support infrastructure b. Networks and Servers/Infrastructure - Establish and maintain an equipment and device inventory and profile c. Networks and Servers/Infrastructure – Review the Maintenance/Support task list and cycle, and provide guidance to institute a systematic task scheduling procedure using either/or/and –The Devops Ticketing System; bolthires Outlook Calendar d. Server-based Software Applications – Review and update inventory documentation of Server-based applications and licenses; e.System Monitoring – Review configurations and reporting procedures on our monitoring system for networks, PCs, servers, and other devices, and provide Management with any recommendations for improvement; citing any specific deficiencies in monitoring and/or automation of messaging. Help establish a procedure for handover of the monitoring tasks to a Backup/Alternate; f. PCs and Peripherals – Review the practices related to the monitoring, maintenance and support of PCs, printers, and peripheral devices.g. PCs and Peripherals – Review and update the existing equipment and device inventory and the “Profile of PC Requirements by Vocation”; establish a hardware lifecycle. h. Software License Management – Review and update the documentation of software applications and licenses. The plan should leverage existing tools and documentation, including our DevOps system, our Wiki and our Shared File System for the collation and updating of all documentation developed or updated. 5- Over the course of the assignment, establish deliverable deadlines and milestones for the IT Admin/Support person, and provide management with periodic performance progress reports.ANTICIPATED Term: 8 weeks Please contemplate proposing a plan which would incorporate periodic onsite visits with the IT Administrator and Management.
