Enterprise Health Systems Architect [ [Must have Nextgen EHR]Columbia, SC 29201/100% RemoteINTERVIEWS WILL BE CONDUCTED VIA TEAMS. INTERVIEWS WILL BE CONDUCTED BY SCEIS MANAGEMENT TEAM. Duration of the Contract: 12 monthsPossibility for Extension: YesWorking hours need to remain flexible within 40 hours per week, on-call and weekend work requiredoccasionally. Main working hours are 8am- 5pm, Monday - Friday. Candidate Location: Must reside within the US for the duration of the contract and be willing to travel to SC as deemed necessaryAdditional details:Key duties and ResponsibilitiesExtensive knowledge/skills of the Health-IT industry which includes multi-tiered architectures, enterprise applications, evaluation of emerging technologies, networks, data management systems, enterprise security, and hardware systems as they relate to Electronic Health Records, Health Information Exchanges and Electronic Medication Administration Records.Ability to plan, organize, direct, and review the work of technical personnel. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with clients, technical staff, management, vendors, and others. Extensive knowledge of the principles and techniques of planning programs and work activities in a technical environment. Required Skills• 10+ years' experience working with Electronic Health Records• 5+ years' experience with using Nextgen EHR, PM and EDR• Nextgen Certification• Experience with ICD-9/ICD-10• 5 + Health care specific data interface standards, and health information exchange technologiesPreferred Skills• Experience with SQL• Experience with Crystal Reports, eMAR, Mirth, PACs,CIPS/Fusion or Merge• Experience with HL7Education Requirement• BACHELORS DEGREEInformation Systems Architect – AdvancedGeneral Nature of WorkPlans, designs, develops, and implements architecture for systems, applications, security, orother highly specialized phases of IT architecture.Applies technology and designs systemarchitectures to align with agency's strategic business objectives for Health-IT. Systems includeNextgen Healthcare's EHR, PM, EDR, NGShare, NG Mobile, MIRTH, eZmar, and Symmetry. Guidelines for Class Use/Distinguishing CharacteristicsThis class is intended for use at the expert level. Examples of WorkLeads planning and evolution of an agency's Health IT Electronic Health Records systemtechnology and architecture design. Works with executive leadership to create technologystrategies that support the agency's overall goals and strategic plans.Develops and maintainsthe technology strategic roadmap and the security architecture documents. Works with others toalign the agency's technology initiatives with state-level standards and strategic directions,ensuring compliance with all applicable security standards. Effectively communicatestechnology and security topics to executive leadership. Works with team to compare, evaluate,and recommend products and vendors to fulfill technology objectives. Aids in the decisionprocess to select technologies and coordinate the transition of responsibility for implementationto the appropriate groups.Develops policies, processes, and management control methods toensure technology architectures and strategic direction are created, documented, understood,adhered to, and enforced. Creates documentation to record activities and decisions. Providesleadership in strategic planning, architecture planning, technology review committees, systemdevelopment life cycle processes, change control boards, security compliance processes, andother relevant activities. Communicates external activities and directives to appropriate staff in atimely manner.Leads in the response to state-level IT requirements and activities, and othertechnology governance and compliance activities. Follows and analyzes market trends. Maintains current and comprehensive knowledge of relevant technology developments in themarket, staying abreast of technology trends and emerging technologies. Provides strategicvision steering for the adoption of new technologies that supports the agency's mission andvision. Daily Duties/ResponsibilitiesAssists with the implementation and continued operation of the agency's electronic healthrecords system and related health care technologies.Assists in the EHR implementation process, including build, testing, training, and go live of theEHR system in conjunction with the vendor. Works with SCDC staff and vendors to implement interfaces between the EHR system andexternal systems such as the SCDC offender management system, lab information system,PACs, pharmacy, etc. Assists management in establishing reporting requirements and develops reports from theNextgen database. Works with vendors and technical staff from regional health care providers to plan andimplement SCDC participation in public and /or private health information exchanges.Works with medical and mental health care providers to evaluate current processes andimplement technology solutions to reduce costs and improve staff efficiency and patient care. Evaluates and recommends equipment for purchase / lease. Provides status reports to management. Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExtensive knowledge/skills of the Health-IT industry which includes multi-tiered architectures,enterprise applications, evaluation of emerging technologies, networks, data managementsystems, enterprise security, and hardware systems as they relate to Electronic Health Records,Health Information Exchanges and Electronic Medication Administration Records.Ability to plan,organize, direct, and review the work of technical personnel. Minimum RequirementsA bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field and experience in businessadministration, computer science, mathematics, engineering, management information science,networking-telecommunications, and/or data processing.Experience must include the designand implementation of enterprise-level systems architecture in either an on-premises, cloud-based, or hybrid environment. Relevant experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree ona year-for-year basis. REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):10+ years' experience working with Electronic Health Records5+ years' experience with using Nextgen EHR, PM and EDRNextgen CertificationHave extensive knowledge of Nextgen Healthcare's Template editor, creating customizedtemplates.HIPAA,ICD-9/ICD-10,Health care specific data interface standards, and health information exchange technologies. Ability to effectively plan and prioritize work activities to meet organizational goals, schedules,and deadlines. PREFERRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):Experience with HL7 and SQL,Experience with Crystal Reports,eMAR,Mirth,PACs,CIPS/Fusion, Merge,Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
