The Human Resources Director reports to the Assistant City Manager and serves as a key member of the City's Executive Leadership Team as one of 10 department directors.The HR Director oversees all HR programs, services and systems, including talent acquisition, labor and employee relations, classification and compensation, benefits, safety and risk management, compliance, policy development and organizational development. The HR Director serves as the lead negotiator with the City's six unions. The HR Director is responsible for ensuring that people systems align with the City's strategic goals, values and culture. Essential FunctionsThe HR Department consists of 6.25 FTEs, including an Assistant HR Director, HR Generalist, Staffing Specialist, Payroll Specialist, Risk & Safety Manager, HR Support Specialist (PT) and HR Project Manager (PT). The department also receives formalized support from the City's Organizational Development Manager. The department partners with 10 City departments and supports more than 350 full-time and 400-500 seasonal and part-time employees annually, with more than 1,000 people employed over the course of a typical year.Full time EmployeeBenefits:The City of Edina offers a competitive benefits package and uses a "cafeteria plan" model, which gives the employee a monthly sum of money and allows them the flexibility to choose how to spend it on the various benefits offered. All insurance coverage takes effect the 1st of the month following date of employment. • Medical: 9 plans to choose from through Health Partners. All individual plans are fully covered and have leftover money towards other benefits. Part time & Seasonal EmployeeBenefits:• Extended Part-time (30-39 hours/week year-round): Eligible for Health Insurance, 13 paid holidays, Retirement, and Employee Assistance (EAP) program.
