SummaryThis National Guard position is for a Human Resources Assistant (Military) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2055000 and is part of the Florida National Guard. DutiesHelpAs a Human Resources Assistant (Military), GS-0203-07, you will plan, organize, and administer the military personnel program for the organization. Serves as the technical expert on a variety of administrative matters (e.g. format for directives and standing operating procedures, general office procedures, filing systems, reference libraries, etc.).Provide authoritative advice and guidance to the commander and his staff pertaining to military personnel administration. Keeps abreast and ensures the implementation of new policy statements, regulations and directives issued by higher headquarters concerning personnel and administrative activities. Develop guidelines and operational procedures to implement changes to policies and programs directed by higher headquarters. QualificationsAREA OF CONSIDERATION:This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; First consideration will be given to Category 1.PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. Recruitment / Relocation: Incentive MAY be authorized. ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. Military Grades: Enlisted: E4 thru E6TEMPORARY PROMOTION- For Title 32 and/or Title 5 selectees only:This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour).If a permanent employee in Title 32 and/or Title 5 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will retain their permanent status AND return to their previous Title 32 and/or Title 5 position once the incumbent returns from military duty. If the military tour member, who has reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her reemployment rights within 5 years, the selected individual may remain in this position without further competition. INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT-For Current Title 5 selectees only:This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour).If an on-board individual employed in Title 5 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will be converted to Title 32 and will receive an indefinite appointment (Tenure 3). If a Reduction-In-Force occurs and/or the military tour member exercises reemployment rights to this position, the indefinite appointee will have no reemployment rights to any other position and may be separated. If the military tour member, having reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her rights within 5 years, this position may be converted to a permanent status without further competition.INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT-State National Guard Members (Not Current T5 or T32 Onboard)This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour), and selectee will receive an indefinite appointment (Tenure 3). SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07: Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-06 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience planning, organizing, and administering the military personnel program for the organization; experience reviewing a variety of military personnel transactions including appointments, enlistments, separations, promotions, duty assignments, transfers, medical evaluations, line of duty actions, security clearances, awards and decorations, retirements, etc.EducationIf you are using Education to qualify for this position you must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims.
