About the RoleWe are looking for a highly skilled and dynamic Purchasing Manager to oversee our entire purchasing department.As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and implementing procurement strategies, ensuring compliance with food production standards and regulations, and collaborating closely with our production and sales teams to drive business growth. Key Responsibilities• Managing and overseeing all purchasing activities, including raw materials buying and vendor management• Developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust supplier management strategy to ensure the best quality and bolthires efficiency• Conducting accurate forecasting to predict future supply needs and prevent potential shortages or excess• Collaborating closely with production and sales teams to align supply with demand• Ensuring compliance with food production standards and regulations, particularly with SQF (Safe Quality Food)• Managing contracts with suppliers, including negotiation, execution, and review• Implementing procurement practices that align with our company's strategic objectives• Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, acting as the primary point of contact for any issues or queries• Continuously improving our purchasing processes and systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness• Managing the consumer packaging procurement processEssential Qualifications• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a purchasing management role, preferably within the food & beverage industry• Proven experience in raw materials buying, vendor management, supplier management, and forecasting• Extensive knowledge of food production, with a particular focus on SQF• Strong skills in contract management and procurement• Experience in consumer packaging procurement• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously• Proficiency in using various software systems for inventory management and forecasting• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal• A bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related fieldPreferred Qualifications• Certification in supply chain management or a related field• Experience working in a union facility• Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance• Familiarity with inventory
