Education - Public Programs and Engagement Internship

The Whitney Museum seeks a Spring 2026 Public Programs and Academic Engagement intern to assist in developing and implementing museum programs with hybrid work and a $3000 stipend. Your RoleHere’s what you will be doing:• Develop and implement programs exploring exhibitions such as Sixties Surreal, Marina Zurkow: Parting Worlds, and Whitney Biennial 2026• Research artists, curators, writers, filmmakers, and scholars for panels, workshops, film screenings, and other events• Draft agreements, track invitations, and coordinate logistics• Assist with advance planning for public programs across Curatorial, Digital Media, Marketing, and Visitor Services departments• Support audience research projects as needed• Coordinate with museum staff, speakers, and the public on event days• Learn about and help ensure accessibility at public programs• Maintain digital archives for the division• Complete additional projects as assignedAbout YouThe company is looking for:• Demonstrated interest in art history, contemporary art, American studies, and/or museum education• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills• Strong oral and written communication skills• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment• Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills• Familiarity with MS Office and PhotoshopCompensation & Benefits• Paid stipend of $3000• Hybrid internship with some onsite work• Generous support provided by Julie and Doug Ostrover for Ostrover Family Academic Year InternsTraining & Development• Basic training on event production, research, and administration• Experience working with contemporary artists, experimental museum pedagogy, and event production• Knowledge of contemporary art and museum programming developmentSubmit a cover letter explaining your interest in the arts and culture space and what you hope to bring to the role.This job may close before the stated closing date, you are encouraged to apply as soon as possibleReport this job Apply tot his job
