Corporate Tax Manager

This role offers a strategic opportunity to lead and oversee corporate tax engagements, providing expert guidance on tax compliance, planning, and transfer pricing. The Corporate Tax Manager will serve as a primary client contact, delivering high-quality tax solutions while managing multiple engagements and mentoring junior staff. The position requires strong analytical skills, leadership, and the ability to communicate complex tax matters effectively.You will collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure compliance with federal, state, and international tax regulations, while driving efficiency and professional development within the team. Fluency in Japanese and English is essential for success in this role. Accountabilities:• Prepare, review, and manage corporate, individual, partnership, and expatriate tax returns. • Oversee tax provisions, transfer pricing analyses, and complex tax calculations for financial statements. • Provide consultation and strategic advice to clients regarding tax planning, compliance, and risk management.• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong professional relationships. • Lead internal and external training sessions to develop staff and senior accountants. • Manage multiple engagements, ensuring timely completion within budget and adherence to quality standards. • Motivate, mentor, and provide performance feedback to staff and seniors, fostering professional growth. • Research and interpret complex tax laws and regulations, providing guidance on client-specific issues.Requirements:• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or a tax-focused accounting program from an accredited institution. • CPA or EA license required. • Minimum 5 years of tax experience in a public accounting environment; Tax Manager experience preferred. • Strong knowledge of individual, corporate, benefit fund, real estate, and exempt organization taxation. • Proficiency in tax software, Microsoft Excel, Word, and related tools. • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. • Dual business-level proficiency in English and Japanese required.• Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
