CONTRACT Ethics, Compliance, and Risk Management Consultant
Our client, a progressive name in the automotive industry, is seeking an Ethics, Compliance, and Risk Management Consultant to support its high-impact compliance initiatives. This 7-month engagement offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally with senior leadership on advisory matters, internal audit support, governance committee prep, and policy development. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks like ABAC, AML, and KYC, and can contribute to strategic projects including COI automation and training program development while also supporting daily functions like monitoring the compliance inbox.With a focus on precision, communication, and operational excellence, this role is a unique opportunity to shape and strengthen a fast-evolving compliance program in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. This is a fully remote contract position. Essential Job Functions:• Advisory: Monitor inbox and consult on ethics, compliance, and business conduct queries, reporting, and disclosures. Topics include, but are not limited to, Conflicts of Interest (COIs), business courtesies/gifts with third parties, records and information management, and ethical concerns or allegations requiring escalation to investigation teams• Internal Audit: Assist compliance team in gathering inputs and submitting evidence of entity-level controls for SOX and other initiatives, as applicable• Ethics & Compliance Committee: Collaborate with team leadership to prepare the agenda and pre-read materials, and take minutes during the Committee meetingAdditionalResponsibilities:• Mature Compliance Programs: Initial focus on Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption (ABAC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know-Your-Customer (KYC), and Fraud• Gap assess compliance-related risk management programs against current and future regulatory frameworks and standards• Recommend, design, and implement improvements to compliance programs, including coordinating implementation across stakeholders• Executive Team Guidance & Training: Recommend initiatives to create custom guidance and training programs.For approved initiatives, develop guidance and/or training on relevant risks in collaboration with risk/business stakeholders and the Learning & Development Team• Procurement Team Guidance & Training: Recommend initiatives to create custom guidance and training programs. For approved initiatives, develop guidance and/or training on ABAC, Fraud, and COIs in collaboration with risk/business stakeholders and the Learning & Development Team• Commercial Team Guidance & Training: Recommend initiatives to create custom guidance and training programs.For approved initiatives, develop guidance and/or training on AML/KYC program in collaboration with risk/business stakeholders and the Learning & Development Team• Conflict of Interest Disclosure Automation:• Analyze current state (use of a COI Disclosure Form in.pdf sent to an inbox for review by Ethics & Compliance Team, responses drafted by Ethics & Compliance team using template and sent via.pdf, no tech-assisted workflow, no approval workflow, sub-optimal records management)• Assess features of available smart form and workflow technology available (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Google Workplace)• Recommend best technology approach to leadership• Develop, test & validate solution with team leadership & IT partners• Communications: Develop drafts of collateral to be used for employee awareness and engagement regarding the importance of a culture of ethics and compliance, including enterprise-wide and local communications campaigns (e.g., Ethics Week), tone at the top and the middle messaging, and employee-facing guidance and resources• Metrics: Develop, analyze, and mature risk metrics, dashboards, and reports to enable effective oversight of ethics and compliance programs and control environments by the Ethics & Compliance Team, executive leadership, and governance bodies• Third Party Risk Management (TPRM): Support Business-As-Usual tasks (monitor progress of program, review questionnaires for approval to next steps, trouble-shoot with third parties).Monitor TPRM inbox, answer questions, and support internal and external stakeholders on TPRM processesQualifications:• Significant experience in multinational, complex, fast-growing global organizations, preferably involving technology and/or manufacturing• Some proven ethics, compliance, and/or risk management-related experience, including related expertise such as legal, consulting, audit, or other risk area-specific roles across the first, second, or third lines of defense• Demonstrated proficiency in risk management related to anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and anti-money laundering / know-your-customer programs• Knowledge of significant regulatory compliance requirements, with practice in spotting emerging trends and new and evolving issues• Experience developing risk assessments, performing gap analyses, and managing relationships with key business stakeholders at all levels of the organization and externally• Demonstrated track record of effective reporting to senior management, with outstanding written and oral communication skills• Organizational, project management, and operational planning skills with a deadline-centric and action-oriented mindset• Ability to work independently and in a team in a dynamic, rapidly changing workplace#LI-REMOTE#LI-MF1 Apply tot his job
