We are seeking a qualified production livestock leader in our IN-MI-OH territory which has a strong dairy influence. This is a leadership position with authority and accountability for all aspects of feed sales in the assigned market areas.This position will provide leadership, support and direction to a team of 7-9 sales specialists. The Commercial Sales Manager (CSM) will develop and execute a business strategy to support the business unit performance goals, including the development and execution of the annual business operating plan with key metrics, and business tactics. The CSM will provide vision and direction and contribute to the development of strategic plans for the business unit to deliver on sales commitments. The CSM will ensure appropriate communication with corporate, production services, and all other corporate support teams on business unit activities.The CSM goals are to include colleague development, profit improvement and business unit gross margin growth. Detailed responsibilities include:• Achieve team revenue, tonnage, market share, and product mix targets. • Develop and execute a strategy to effectively grow feed tonnage, revenue and market share. • Regularly contact customers and prospects, develop and maintain positive customer relationships. • Provide sound nutritional and management consultation in an effort to enhance bottom line profitability.• Establish product line, services, and marketing programs suitable to the local area. • Possibly help formulate rations to fit individual producer needs in conjunction with Formulations and Dairy/Beef Nutritionists. • Ability to clearly set goals/objectives and positively impact the P&L/plan. • Holds team accountable to clearly achieving results through coaching and performance management. • Promotes new/existing products, processes and business solutions as required. • Ensures all customer's requirements and needs are met.• Collaborate with regional and corporate staff and provides feedback to improve on processes to be more responsive to customers• CSM would be responsible for the hiring and supervision of, and provides leadership to assist sales staff. • CSM would provide leadership in maintaining a productive, bolthires-effective, safe, and corporate compliant business team. Minimum requirements for this position include• Bachelor's Degree, animal nutrition industry/marketplace knowledge (preferably within the dairy industry), prior sales experience with a proven track record in developing new business, working knowledge of proper management and feeding practices, feed formulation/ration balancing, and strong agricultural business aptitude.• The successful candidate will have superior verbal and written communication skills, troubleshooting and problem solving skills, and have computer literacy. • The candidate must reside centrally located to the Tri-State area of IN/MI/OH, be comfortable with on-farm conditions (i.e. working around dairy cattle, farm machinery, etc.) and have a valid driver's license.
