OverviewFTE: 1.0Remote- within the state of FLPosition Summary:The Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS) Team Lead is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the progress of the CDI program through interpretation of reports and quality rating metrics. Key responsibilities include:• Identifying areas of focus and necessary process refinements through report analysis• Leading the CDI team in implementing process changes and measuring the efficacy and impact of results• Serving as a resource to physicians and administration regarding the appropriateness of inpatient DRG assignmentsResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:• Perform concurrent and retrospective second-level reviews on specific opportunities• Develop strategic approaches and process refinements to capture opportunities within the CDS team• Track the CDI team’s progress in capturing opportunities and effectively prioritizing workload• Develop and oversee new hire training and orientation programs for new CDS staff• Monitor and manage the query escalation process and DRG mismatches• Provide feedback and educational growth opportunities to the CDI team• Provide feedback to physician champions on provider engagement and response• Create and deliver targeted physician education sessions• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external CDI data requests• Track technology issues with process tools and coordinate updates with IT• Perform all other duties as assigned by management within the scope of the roleQualificationsEducation Requirements:• Registered Nurse (RN) OR• Unlicensed physician who has graduated from a medical school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools as meeting eligibility requirements for its graduates to apply to the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) for certification and examination at the time of graduationExperience Requirements:• 5 years nursing experience in an acute care setting, including inpatient bedside nursing and Case Management• Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) experienceLicensing / Certifications Required:• Current Florida RN License OR ECFMG Registry• Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) Apply tot his job
