About the position Responsibilities • Serve inmates of all faiths and no faith by providing spiritual guidance and support. • Administer faith-appropriate sacraments, rites, and ceremonies for inmates. • Conduct faith-specific primary religious gatherings for inmates sharing the Chaplain's faith tradition. • Supervise accommodations for inmates of other faiths. • Conduct rounds to visit inmates in all areas of the facility. • Provide spiritual and grief counseling for interested inmates. Requirements • Two years of professional pastoral experience and a bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of professional pastoral experience.• Documentation from an officially sanctioned faith group stating authorization to conduct worship/sacred services. • Completion of the Correctional Chaplains Training Course within six months of hire. • Maintenance of credentials with an officially sanctioned faith group on an annual basis. • One unit of clinical pastoral education or equivalent specialized training.
