Backend Engineer, Affiliated Trading
Job Description:• Build and maintain the infrastructure underlying Kalshi Trading's trading operations• Develop robust, high-performance event-driven systems and APIs• Work with relational databases (Postgres) and write concurrent code• Operate and integrate with AWS services (RDS, ECS) and stream processing (Kafka)• Potentially design or improve order management and trading systems• Shape and influence the role and the direction of Kalshi Trading's engineering efforts• Collaborate within a small team on greenfield projects and take ownership of deliverablesRequirements:• At least 3 years of professional experience as a backend engineer• Experience building robust high performance event-driven systems and APIs• Very comfortable with relational databases (e.g.Postgres)• Experience writing concurrent code• Familiarity with the AWS stack (especially RDS and ECS)• Familiarity with stream processing (Kafka)• Experience directly building trading systems including order management (preferred)• Proficiency in Golang (preferred)• Familiarity with frontend development (preferred)• Familiarity with machine learning, neural networks, or generative AI including LLMs (preferred)• Experience trading on Kalshi or other prediction markets (preferred)Benefits:• Equity• Benefits Apply tot his job
