ASC 606Senior Accountant / ConsultantJob DescriptionJoin a leading defense contractor as an ASC 606 Consultant, assisting with the manual review of contracts. This is a remote consulting opportunity lasting 3 to 6 months, with a focus on revenue recognition for approximately 40 contracts per month. Responsibilities• Conduct thorough reviews of government and commercial ASC 606 contracts. • Prepare and review journal entries. • Manage accruals for direct program work. • Reconcile balance sheets. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Deltek, providing recommendations to improve project reports.Essential Skills• Proven experience in revenue recognition and technical accounting, with a strong background in ASC 606. • Hands-on experience in reading and reviewing government contracts and applying the disclosure model for revenue recognition. • Bachelor’s degree in accounting. • Expertise in Deltek Costpoint with the ability to troubleshoot and propose solutions for project report issues. • Experience in balance sheet reconciliations, financial statements, and journal entries. Additional Skills & Qualifications• Experience with Blackline.• Experience in a large government contractor service-based business managing subcontractors with milestones, cost-plus, and fixed-price contracts. Work EnvironmentThis position offers a flexible, fully remote work environment from Monday to Friday. Ideal candidates will be based in Northern Virginia.
