To learn more about Baptist Health, visit us at Highlights: Summary:The Unified Communications Engineer shall be responsible to design, implement, and support of enterprise-level unified communications systems. This role involves advanced technical expertise in voice, video, data, and messaging technologies, with a focus on complex troubleshooting, system optimization, and proactive maintenance.This individual will be involved in the configuration and integration of unified communication systems, as well as to diagnose and resolve technical issues. The Unified Communications Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational goals and may assist in planning and executing technology projects, while also to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role. Education/Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree in a field of study relevant to the current position is preferred.Minimum 2-6 years of experience in a similar or related role required; however, candidates with an equivalent combination of experience, education, certification, and demonstrated proficiency in a similar or related role will also be considered. Licensure/Certification: One or more current, industry standard certifications preferred (CompTIA ITF+ CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Support Technician, etc.). Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong proficiency in administering and maintaining unified communication systems and related technologies.Proficiency with operating systems, such as Windows Server and Linux. Knowledgeable with VMware, Windows, and similar virtual technologies Understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls). Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation tasks. Familiarity with unified communication platforms such as Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Presence, Unity, Expressway, and Emergency Responder. Proficiency with cloud-based unified communication solutions such as bolthires Teams, Cisco Webex, and Zoom.Ability to identify and resolve basic system issues effectively. Strong attention to detail in documentation and system configurations. Effective oral and written communication skills for effective collaboration. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and support senior staff.
