Telehealth Patient Care Advocate (Patient Coordinator / Medical Assistant) – Remote

As a Patient Care Advocate, you will be an integral part of shaping the patient experience, ensuring patient safety and cultivating a culture of respect and communication. In this role, you will be the first line of contact for all incoming patient inquiries–responding to patient questions and providing support, triaging medical questions, identifying issues when they arise, and escalating concerns to the appropriate team member as needed.You will work closely with clinicians and the clinical operations team to ensure patient consults and inquiries are handled in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will be deeply committed to patient care and safety, an excellent listener, a respectful communicator, and has previous experience in abortion care or as an abortion doula. Position details: Status: Part-time or Full-time Shifts: 2-4 per week (including Saturdays and Sundays) Hours: 10-hour shifts during 8am-8pm EST (subject to change)Compensation: $ 29.50/hr or $60k/yr Requirements • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred • 2+ years of experience in areas such as care coordination, nursing, support/hospitality, and/or customer service • Experience working and coordinating with healthcare professionals including doctors, counselors, nurse practitioners and clinic staff • Commitment to reproductive justice, racial equity, and improving patient care experience • Exceptional verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills • Ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous environment • Excellent time-management, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills • Proficient with web-based applications; highly comfortable with technology • Clearly and respectfully communicates with patients and team Bonus points • Bilingual in Spanish • Startup experience • Experience in chat triage • 1+ years providing abortion care • Competency in providing trauma-informed care • 1+ year of telehealth experience • 1+ year working with insurance payors At Hey Jane, we work towards the vision of having equitable healthcare, changing the status quo, and rebuilding the way people experience healthcare—and bring that same vision to our workplace.We’re an equal opportunity employer committed to building an inclusive environment, and encourage all applicants from every background and life experience.
