System Administrator (Junior)

This position is remote. Acuity is seeking a Junior System Administrator to support a fast-paced DHS mission environment. This role works with senior engineers to streamline operations, improve monitoring and reporting, and assist with environment upgrades and deployments across multiple stages.Why Acuity? Responsibilities• Monitor systems and tickets; perform initial triage, resolution, and escalation. • Execute routine patching, account administration, and backup/restore tasks.• Assist with deployments in Dev/UAT/Pre-Prod/Prod following documented change records. • Update runbooks, configuration baselines, inventories, and knowledge articles. • Perform interface checks (web services/SFTP) and basic log analysis using Splunk and platform tools. Qualifications• Education/Experience: BS in IT (or equivalent) and 1-2 years of system administration or DevSecOps experience. • Technical Familiarity:• RHEL/Windows Admin, JBoss or similar Java app server basics, MongoDB fundamentals, CI/CD usage (CloudBees/Maven), Ansible/Terraform basics, IIS/Apache, AD/Kerberos Splunk/log tooling, SFTP• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and customer support skills.Security & Clearance• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
