Senior Legal Analyst - EMPLOYERS - Reno, NV - work from home jobCompany: EMPLOYERSJob description: Location: Reno, NVJob_Code: 5763# of Openings: 1Job BriefRemote OpportunitySenior Legal Analyst|Remote OpportunityGeneral Summary:Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for overseeing and supporting the business in areas relating to legal compliance, contracting, regulatory research, compliance incident management or governance and risk within the Legal Department.This position provides analytical and technical expertise; and acts as a liaison between business units, regulatory agencies, outside counsel and the Legal Department. #LI-Remote HP22Essential Duties andResponsibilities:• Accurately research requirements, investigate, compose and prepare draft, proofread and finalize correspondence, make recommendations on reports, filings, memorandums, contracts, policies, forms, presentation materials, and other documents. • Operationalize metrics and reporting function to continually report on meaningful legal, regulatory, security, risk and compliance metrics for Executive and Board governance committees.Support the automation of KRIs and KPI reporting that align with operational/business risk areas and corporate risk. • Maintain calendar and scheduling for legal, regulatory and other related reports, filings renewals and meetings. • Investigate, research, make recommendations and report on regulatory issues related to the Company's operations. Maintain a working knowledge of relevant issues, laws and regulations. Keeps informed on changes in relevant laws. • Receive regulatory inquiries, independently research/investigate the issue, make recommendations, prepare response, and/or route for response.• Receive, date-stamp, review, distribute and/or file mail, e-mail, and faxes daily, and organize, respond, and/or calendar accordingly. Must be able to read and interpret information and documents and ensure the issue(s) is resolved. • Serve as a liaison, as needed, and communicate in a professional manner in person, by telephone, e-mail, memoranda, and written correspondence within the Company and with outside regulators, vendors, and other stakeholders. • Initiate and/or lead assigned projects by developing, and organizing the execution of projects in a timely manner with minimal direction.Must be able to multi-task and prioritize. • Track on-going events and meet regularly with supervisor or assigned attorney to discuss and provide status updates. Follow-up on matters until resolved. • Maintain confidentiality• Participate in special projects, as needed. • Responsible for supporting the business by facilitating the management of risk by identifying, analyzing, treating, monitoring, and reporting risk. • Lead and support various Risk capabilities such as, but not limited to vendor relationships process, the Business Continuity Plan, governance and compliance committees and filings, and privacy risks.• Maintain appropriate policies and procedures in support of Risk and Compliance objectives. • Maintain business systems used for Business Continuity and Compliance. • Support relationships with regulatory agencies. • Identify, report and monitor legislation in designated states. • Business Unit Notification of Legislation that would impact the company. • Create bulletins on adopted legislative and regulatory issues for business units. • Prepare political contribution reports required by States. • Monitor and coordinate payment of all campaign contributions, charitable donations and vendor expenses.• Responsible to help formulate annual department budgets and forecasts, monitor expenses on a monthly basis and prepare quarterly reports. • Other duties as may be assigned. Salary Range: $69,493.04 - $76,808.10Job Requirements:• BA/BS in insurance, business, legal or related fields or combination of education and demonstrated experience in a law office environment or insurance compliance program. • 4 years' experience with insurance company or other highly regulated industry with a focus in licensing, reporting and/or filing, regulatory research, governance or risk.• Ability to interpret existing regulations and proposed legislation• Strong analytical skills, with a technical aptitude. • Excellent oral and written communication, listening, interpersonal, customer service and telephone skills. • Above average computer skills including data entry, word processing and spreadsheet program. • Ability to research, analyze and communicate legal, regulatory and compliance issues. • A strong understanding of risk management methodologies, frameworks, and principles (e.g.NIST, ISO 27001, ITIL, PCI, CCPA, SOC 2, SOX, etc.)• Supporting certifications (e.g., CISA, CRISC, CISSP CISM, CIA, CCP) preferred• Experience and knowledge of Fusion Risk Management Software is preferred• Must have an understanding of the legislative processAn equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the requirements listed above. Work Environment/Physical Demands:This role is REMOTE friendly, but only open to candidates currently located in the United States.It requires a suitable space that provides a private and quiet workplace.
