The successful candidate will have a strong background in instructional design, learning technologies, and multimedia production. They will have excellent organizational and communication skills and demonstrate working independently and collaboratively to produce materials that lead to positive learning experiences.This role involves matrix reporting to the Director of Education Technology and Strategy and the Associate Dean of Libraries and Information Sciences. ResponsibilitiesDuties and Responsibilities• Designs and delivers engaging online/blended learning opportunities that are intuitive, informative, interactive and consistent with instructional design and adult learning principles. • Develop and maintain a portfolio of innovative and effective technology-based learning solutions and services that align with strategic objectives.• Collaborate with curricular faculty and staff to identify, select, and integrate effective instructional technologies into existing learning strategies and ensure that training meets learner needs and aligns with organizational goals and strategy. • Provide technical assistance, training and support for curricular faculty and staff using instructional technologies; develop and manage training content and materials. • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional technology tools and services, document policies, procedures, and best practices, and generate reports assessing the effectiveness of produced materials.• Maintain and share knowledge of emerging instructional technology trends participating in educational community of practice groups within and outside of the institution. • Evaluate potential instructional technology tools for effectiveness and recommend solutions. • Advances diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility for all learners. QualificationsEducation and Experience• Master's or doctoral degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field or an equivalent combination of experience and education• At least five years of relevant experience in course development, academic project management, educational media production, or related areas developing content or courseware for adult learners*; seven years of related experience strongly preferred.• Experience within a higher education setting required; experience with graduate or professional learners in health or the sciences is preferred. Skills and Abilities• Self-motivated, functioning effectively in a fast-paced academic environment with multiple tasks and projects, while keeping priorities aligned• Applied knowledge of adult learning theories, copyright, and assessment strategies• Demonstrated skill creating learning content with web-authoring tools and web-based CMS/LMS (e.g., Articulate, Blackboard, Drupal, etc.), lecture capture (e.g.Echo360), video and web conferencing• Multimedia production techniques and technologies• Excellent command of MS Office Suite, especially Word and Excel• Capacity to develop new technological skills and locate information online to apply• Highly effective communication skills, especially writing effectively for digital publication and presenting technical, scientific or complex content to an audience with varying levels of technical understanding. finalist candidates will be asked to present as part of the interview process.• Effective interpersonal skills, working independently and in collaborative teams; able to work with people from all levels of the organization• Creative problem-solving and decision-making skillsCompensation StatementThe Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law onSalary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $87,692.00 - $131,538.00 Annually.
