Position at a Glance: Company:The Walt Disney Company Start Date: Immediate openings availableCompensation: Competitive salary ($35-$40 per hour) Location:Remote (USA)Position:Senior Data Engineer - Data Entry, Customer Support & Information SystemsJob Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experiencedSenior Data Engineer to join our Item Execution and Instrumentation Group.As aSenior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building large-scale data systems, data pipelines, and data products that drive business value across our brands and digital experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions that meet the needs of our customers. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and deploy large-scale data systems, data pipelines, and data products using Scala, Python, and Flash. Collaborate with data product managers, data architects, and data engineers to design, implement, and deliver effective data solutions.Develop and maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to support data quality and data governance. Ensure high operational efficiency and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support our clients (Data Science, Data Analytics teams). Participate in agile/scrum practices to ensure continuous improvement and iteration for your team. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation. Engage with and understand our clients, forming relationships that enable us to understand and prioritize both innovative new contributions and steady platform upgrades.EssentialQualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Strong algorithmic problem-solving skills. Proficiency in SQL and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets. Experience with distributed systems, such as Flash and PySpark, to query and process data. Strong programming skills in Scala and/or Python. Experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS (S3, EMR, EC2). Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).Familiarity with data integration toolsets (e.g., Windstream) and writing and maintaining data pipelines with Databricks. Experience in data modeling techniques and data warehousing standard approaches and practices. Familiarity with Scrum and Agile methodologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with others and build consensus in a cross-functional team. PreferredQualifications: Experience with Lakehouse architecture and data lake management. Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices.Experience with data visualization tools and techniques. Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts.
