[Remote] Principal Algorithm Research Engineer (Remote/Flexible)

They are seeking a passionate researcher to advance the automated insulin delivery algorithm for the next generation AID system, focusing on developing robust glucose control algorithms that require minimal user intervention. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and demonstrating the clinical benefits of new features to stakeholders.Responsibilities• Design and assess new features and safety mitigations for AID algorithm and overall product• Analyze clinical device data for algorithm development with proper statistic tools• Execute research plans, simulations and experiments to capture the clinical implications of new system features and safety mitigations of the AID system• Effectively demonstrate the value and clinical benefits of new features and safety mitigations developed by the algorithm team to key stakeholders• Capture key innovations that arise as part of new feature and safety analyses into IP portfolios• Collaborate effectively with multiple cross-functional groups within and outside the organization• Carry out any additional duties as required related to AID algorithm and product feature level development to achieve critical product development timelinesSkills• B.S.or Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field and 12+ years experience• Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field preferred, with 5 or more year’s academic or industrial research experience in an area related to control and signal processing, or data science in the field of diabetes• Exceptional competence writing software to implement and evaluate research ideas.Ability to translate research into real world applications• Knowledge and experience in the field of diabetes technology• Experience in medical device industry• Publications in peer-reviewed journals, and/or professional conference presentations• Proficiency in multiple software languages: Matlab, Python, SQL, C/C++, Java• Excellent communication skills and collaborative teamworkBenefits• Medical, dental, and vision insurance• 401(k) with company match• Paid time off (PTO)• And additional employee wellness programsCompany Overview• Insulet Corporation (NASDAQ: PODD), headquartered in Massachusetts, is an innovative medical device company dedicated to simplifying life for people with diabetes and other conditions through its Omnipod product platform.It was founded in 2000, and is headquartered in Acton, Massachusetts, USA, with a workforce of 1001-5000 employees.
