[Remote] Lead Cloud Data Engineer (Azure + Snowflake)

EXL is a global analytics and digital solutions company seeking a Lead Cloud Data Engineer to build and optimize scalable data pipelines across Azure and Snowflake. The role involves engineering, analytics, and data governance to shape the medallion architecture that powers insights for clients and internal teams. Responsibilities• Build and maintain ADF pipelines, Event Hub streaming, and batch ingestion workflows• Develop Snowpark transformations and optimize Snowflake SQL for performance and bolthires• Own the Bronze → Silver → Gold data architecture, including schema enforcement and automated quality checks• Implement PII masking, encryption, RBAC, and compliance controls aligned to EXL’s governance standards• Enable integration with downstream BI tools, APIs, and analytics platforms• Support bolthires/CD automation using Git/Azure DevOps and implement monitoring, alerting, and recovery workflowsSkills• 6–10+ years of cloud/data engineering experience — Azure + Snowflake required• Hands-on with ADF, Event Hub, Snowpark, medallion architecture, and Snowflake SQL• Strong background in data modeling, data quality frameworks, and secure data handling• Experience in bolthires/CD pipelines, version control, and infrastructure automation• Strong communication skills and the ability to lead technical discussions with cross-functional teams• Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or similar• Master’s degree preferredCompany Overview• EXL is a provider of Transformation and Outsourcing services to Global 1000 companies in multiple industries It was founded in 1999, and is headquartered in New York, New York, USA, with a workforce of 10001+ employees.Its website isCompany H1B Sponsorship• EXL has a track record of offering H1B sponsorships, with 1 in 2025, 1 in 2020.
