Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Principal Applied Scientist, Customer Engagement Service - Science, you will lead the development of large language model foundations and agentic AI solutions for customer service automation.Your key responsibilities will include:* Leading the development of CS large language model foundations: You will spearhead the development of large language model foundations that deliver exceptional customer experiences across multiple channels, languages, and business verticals. * Designing and implementing agentic AI architectures: You will design and implement agentic AI architectures that seamlessly integrate automated chatbots with Associate tooling, driving innovation and excellence in customer service automation.* Driving optimization strategies: You will drive optimization strategies, including model quantization, parallelization, and caching, to balance performance and latency, ensuring that our AI-powered tools deliver exceptional results. * Architecting multi-lingual, multi-channel solutions: You will architect multi-lingual, multi-channel solutions spanning chat, email, and other text-based interfaces, enabling our customers to deliver exceptional customer experiences across multiple channels. * Partnering with AGI and Bedrock teams: You will partner with AGI and Bedrock teams to effectively leverage and optimize LLM infrastructure, driving innovation and excellence in conversational AI.* Guiding technical strategy: You will guide technical strategy for transforming both customer experience and Associate operations through generative AI, ensuring that our customers are empowered to deliver exceptional results. About the TeamAs a Principal Applied Scientist, Customer Engagement Service - Science, you will be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in conversational AI. Our team supports core customer segments, including Stores, Digital, Devices, Video, Music, bolthires Business, and delivery operations.As a technical leader for conversational AI, you will shape innovations in customer service automation with visibility at the S-Team level. Basic QualificationsTo be considered for this role, you must have:* Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field: You must have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field. *10+ years of experience in natural language processing and machine learning: You must have 10+ years of experience in natural language processing and machine learning.* Proven expertise in LLM optimization and inference techniques: You must have proven expertise in LLM optimization and inference techniques. * Strong background in model performance optimization and distributed systems: You must have a strong background in model performance optimization and distributed systems. * Experience building production-scale chatbot or conversational AI systems: You must have experience building production-scale chatbot or conversational AI systems. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills: You must have excellent communication and collaboration skills.* Track record of leading complex technical initiatives: You must have a track record of leading complex technical initiatives.
