About the positionResponsibilities• Perform comprehensive audits to determine the integrity of coding and billing for physician and clinical fees. • Detect and correct documentation, coding, and billing errors. • Evaluate the accuracy of documentation, including E/M and other payer codes. • Assess medical necessity of services billed. • Research and apply federal guidelines and ensure compliance with audit delivery. • Develop and execute educational opportunities and curriculums based on audit results.• Lead provider education events to discuss audit results and identify trends. • Provide support for related audit and coding initiatives. • Establish positive working relationships as a subject matter expert. Requirements• High School Diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, GED or equivalent training or experience required. • AAPC CertifiedProfessional Coder. • AAPC CertifiedProfessional Medical Auditor. • AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based. • At least 2 years of professional E&M coding experience.• At least 2 years of E&M provider education experience. • Strong knowledge of E&M regulations and CMS Documentation Guidelines. • Experience with data abstraction and analysis of patient encounters. • Proficient in ICD10CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision. • Excellent customer service skills. • Proficient in Microsoft Office and report generation. Nice-to-haves• CPC-CertifiedProfessional Coder and/or CCS-P-Certified Coding Specialist-Physician required upon hire.• CPMA-CertifiedProfessional Medical Auditor upon hire or must be completed within 1 year.
