About the RoleThe Mortgage Operation Manager is the driver behind the mortgage loan processingfunction.Working in partnership with the support of Sr. Complex Underwriter, you willtake ownership of files from intake through funding, ensuring loans move efficiently,accurately, and in compliance. While this is currently a hands-on role, you’ll also serveas a key coordinator between internal teammates, external partners, and referralsources, helping to streamline communication and resolve issues to delight our clients. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, believes inproviding a level of client service above their expectations, thrives in a collaborativeenvironment, and is excited by the opportunity to help shape and eventually build out agrowing processing team.Key ResponsibilitiesLoan Processing & Coordination• Leveraging support from the assigned underwriter(s), manage the full lifecycle of mortgage loans, from setup and disclosure through closing and funding. • Coordinate with originators, underwriters, external closers and post-closing staff to help our clients close on time while focusing on client experience. • Serve as a point of contact for clients, real estate professionals, and third-party partners (CPAs, financial advisors, title, escrow, appraisal, attorneys).Customer Service• Maintain strong relationships with clients, provide exceptional service, and help them find suitable lending solutions to meet their financial needs. Workflow Oversight• Take responsibility for the pipeline while helping balance workloads across teammates as needed. • Monitor loan status to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with service level agreements (SLAs). • Identify potential issues early and work with the assigned underwriter(s), external partners and management to resolve them quickly.• Supervise the daily operations of the branch, including loan origination, processing, and closing, to ensure efficiency and compliance. Process & Technology• Recommend improvements to workflows, policies, and procedures. • Help optimize use of proprietary company systems, automation, and reporting tools. • Maintain documentation such as checklists, job aids, and training guides to support consistency and scalability. Compliance & Quality• Ensure adherence to TRID, TILA, RESPA, ECOA, HMDA, Fair Lending, and other regulatory requirements.• Assist with pre- and post-close quality control reviews and audit responses. • Uphold best practices in client service and data integrity. • Oversee and manage company compliance requirements with state and federal regulatory agencies, including licensing and reporting. • Manage all NMLS and state licensing requirements, reports and associated documents as they become due. Client & Partner Experience• Provide clear, timely communication with clients and partners. • Reduce borrower friction by anticipating needs and proactively managing expectations.• Represent the company professionally with a focus on trust and long-term relationships. Qualifications• 5+ years of mortgage operations or processing experience. • Minimum 2 years Supervisorial/Managerial experience in processing• Solid knowledge of Conventional, Jumbo, and Non-QM products. • Familiarity with various LOS platforms, broker portals and workflow management tools. • Ability to follow up on the underwriter’s review and analysis of income, assets, and credit documentation. • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, and phone-based). • A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. • NMLS license preferred but not required. Compensation• This position is a 15 - 20 Hr/week, part-time role with an hourly wage of $35 and bonus of $750 per file which results in an effective hourly rate of $45/Hr. 90 day lookback (if needed) will provide additional compensation to maintain the minimum $45/Hr rate.
