About the organizationUS VALOR is a non-profit focused on humanity and providing respect and hope to U.S. veterans that have made great sacrifices for their fellow countrymen within the United States and around the globe. People may have heard of or know of a military veteran who experienced a difficult time adjusting back into society following their service, a veteran who became disabled, or someone killed in action during their tour of duty.Without a doubt, these veterans and their families experience mental and physical pain, isolation and eventually spiral into a depressive mental state. US VALOR provides hope, and a pathway, for their survival and general well-being in what can be an unfriendly and often un-thankful world that surrounds them. Our Apprenticeship ProgramThe US VALOR CAP prepares the apprentices to leave the program with the necessary qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) to participate in varying workforce categories/roles.Upon completion of the full US VALOR Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Program, a candidate will have completed and earned ten major Cybersecurity certifications through SANS, Comptia, EC Council, ISC2, ISACA, Cybersec, and Fortinet. QualificationsReporting to the Board of Directors, this role oversees strategic planning, community partnerships, program development, and staff leadership. The ED will represent US VALOR both internally and externally—building relationships with funders, providers, and civic leaders while ensuring continued excellence in service delivery and innovation.Previous experience leading a charitable organization to increase expansion, strategic planning, charitable donations, planning and running fundraising campaigns, excellent oral and written communications, relationship-building, team management skills, infusing passion into the volunteers, development of an annual financial plan, building a following. Military veterans are preferred. Salary and benefitsThis is a non-paid, volunteer position. A nominal compensation may be awarded in the future after donations received and number of corporate donors increase.None of the board of directors receive any salary or any form of compensation. The board of directors has always been, and will continue to be, volunteer only. The board strives to be a highly respected, financially transparent charity as rated by charity navigator and other rating agencies with at least 90% of all monies received going directly back into the programs offered.
