Position Title: Epidemiologist 1Duration: 12/15/2025 - 06/30/2026 (Renewable through 2029, pending funding)Location: Hybrid | 710 James Robertson Parkway, 7th Floor, Andrew Johnson Tower, Nashville, TN 37243OverviewThe Client is seeking an Epidemiologist 1 to support two key initiatives:• Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Program (TUPCP)• Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant (PHHSBG)Both programs are part of the Division of Family Health and Wellness, under the Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion section.The selected candidate will provide epidemiologic expertise for program planning, data analysis, reporting, and evaluation. The goal is to strengthen evidence-based public health interventions and improve outcomes across Tennessee. Key Responsibilities• Provide epidemiologic and analytic support for the TUPCP and PHHSBG programs. • Analyze and interpret surveillance and program data to identify trends, disparities, and performance metrics. • Conduct descriptive epidemiologic analyses and prepare clear, data-driven reports.• Create data visualizations and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences (program staff, leadership, and community partners). • Manage and maintain REDCap databases; assist with system updates and new project development. • Clean, manipulate, and analyze large datasets using SAS. • Collaborate with program directors and communications teams to develop infographics and public-facing data materials. • Ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements and data release guidelines. • Support continuous quality improvement and innovation in data use and program evaluation.Required Skills & Qualifications• Proficiency in analytical methods and statistical software; SAS strongly preferred. • Strong skills in data visualization; Tableau experience highly preferred. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). • Experience managing databases; REDCap experience strongly preferred. • Excellent technical writing and communication skills. • Prior experience supporting or evaluating public health programs is strongly preferred. Education & Experience• Master's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Statistics, or Health Informatics (preferred).• OR a Master's degree in a Health Science, Biomedical Science, or Environmental Science field with 2+ years of epidemiology experience. Work Schedule & Logistics• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST (37.5 hours/week)• Work Type: Hybrid• In-person attendance required on the first day for laptop deployment and onboarding in Nashville, TN. • Quarterly in-person meetings required; other on-site meetings may occur as needed. • Travel to Nashville is not reimbursed, but travel for approved site visits may be reimbursed.Additional Information• Duration: Initial contract through June 2026; renewable through 2029 based on funding. • Expenses: Allowed per state policy. • Location: Andrew Johnson Tower, Nashville, TN.
