POSITION SUMMARY This role is for an experienced tax resolution professional who can own cases from start to finish. You will analyze client financials, determine resolution strategies, prepare and submit documentation, communicate with clients, and negotiate directly with the IRS and state agencies. You must be comfortable completing technical case work independently without heavy administrative support. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage a high-volume caseload (75–100 active cases) • Represent clients before the IRS and state taxing authorities • Analyze financials and determine appropriate resolution strategies • Prepare financial reports, documentation requests, and submissions • Research and build strategic arguments using the Internal Revenue Manual (IRM), IRS policies, and applicable law • Negotiate directly with IRS and state agencies • Track case progress and ensure timely follow-ups • Maintain proactive client communication (status, timelines, expectations) • Manage correspondence and compliance requirements • Assist with removal of liens, levies, and wage garnishments • Maintain organized digital files, notes, and workpapers • Attend team meetings and case reviews • Provide exceptional client service and support long-term relationships QUALIFICATIONS • Minimum 3-5+ years of hands-on tax resolution experience • Minimum 3-5+ years negotiating directly with IRS and state agencies • Extensive experience with: • IRS collections • Offers in Compromise (OIC) • Penalty abatement • Appeals • Innocent spouse • Examinations • Advisory functions • Identity theft cases • Strong working knowledge of the IRM • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills • Highly organized and able to manage cases independently • Proficient with tax resolution and case management software • Professional demeanor with a strong client-service mindset • Ability to pass background and reference checks REQUIREMENTS • Active credential required: Enrolled Agent (EA), CPA, or Attorney • Bachelor’s degree required • Personal cellphone (firm provides phone app for office line) • Ability to work required core hours SCREENING QUESTIONS (REQUIRED) Applications without answers may not be considered. • What credential do you currently hold (EA, CPA, or Attorney)?
