Job Summary:
The Software Data Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data integration solutions that enable seamless communication between systems and applications across the enterprise. This role focuses on API development, system integration, data modeling, and cloud-based technologies within an Agile/SAFe environment. The ideal candidate has extensive experience supporting U.S. Government software programs and demonstrates strong technical expertise, a customer-focused (UX/CX) mindset, hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms such as Azure and the Microsoft Power Platform, and exceptional communication skills for effectively engaging stakeholders.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain data integration solutions across multiple systems using APIs, middleware, and integration tools
Build and customize solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform (Primarily Power Apps)
Develop and consume RESTful APIs and services with strong adherence to best practices, security, and scalability
Work with JSON and other data interchange formats to transform and map data between systems
Perform system integration across enterprise platforms, including cloud and on-premises applications
Design and maintain database schemas, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and integrity
Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects
Develop, manage, and support solutions using Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL
Implement integrations leveraging Microsoft Azure services (e.g., Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, Data Factory)
Participate in Agile and SAFe ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, including automated builds, deployments, and version control
Collaborate with UX/CX teams to ensure integrations support seamless and intuitive user experiences
Monitor and troubleshoot integration workflows, ensuring high availability and reliability
Document system architectures, APIs, integration patterns, and processes

Basic Qualifications:
U.S. Citizen. Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5–7+ years of experience in software development and data integration
Significant experience with Microsoft Power Platform solutions, specifically Microsoft Power Apps
Strong experience in API development (REST, SOAP)
Advanced knowledge of SQL and relational database design
Experience designing and implementing database schemas
Hands-on experience with RDBMS platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
Strong experience with U.S. Government Software programs
Strong experience with integrating Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) Solutions
Experience implementing UX/CX-focused solutions that integrate backend systems with frontend experiences
Proficiency in JSON, XML, and related data formats
Experience with system integration architecture and patterns (ETL, ESB, microservices)
Experience with Microsoft Azure services and cloud-based development
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex system integrations
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with U.S. Government security policy and secure system design
Experience with leading software developers
Experience with enterprise integration tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica)
Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging frameworks (e.g., Kafka, Service Bus)
Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards
Certifications in Azure, SAFe, or Power Platform
Experience working in Agile and/or SAFe environments
Experience with DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines)
Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, C#, JavaScript)
Work Location: Remote
Compensation: $110,400.00 - $165,500.00. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
