Senior Appellate Attorney / Litigation Advisory Counsel Opportunity Overview An established civil litigation practice is seeking an experienced attorney to support complex litigation and appellate matters across a diverse caseload. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with trial teams, contribute to high-level legal strategy, and handle appellate proceedings from inception through resolution. Position Information Practice Focus: Appeals & Litigation Strategy Employment Classification: Full-Time, Salaried Work Flexibility: Remote and office-based options available depending on candidate preference and proximity to firm locations Core Responsibilities • Provide strategic litigation support to trial attorneys throughout all phases of civil litigation matters. • Manage appellate cases, including briefing, motion practice, and oral argument preparation. • Partner with litigation teams during trial proceedings to preserve appellate issues and assist with legal strategy. • Research complex legal questions and prepare memoranda, motions, and appellate briefs. • Evaluate case exposure and develop recommendations regarding litigation and appeal strategy. • Communicate directly with clients regarding case developments, legal analysis, and procedural matters. • Work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff to maintain efficient workflow and case management practices. • Organize and maintain litigation and appellate files, ensuring documentation is accurate and accessible. • Assist with additional legal projects and assignments as needed. Qualifications • Licensed and in good standing with the Florida Bar. • Minimum of five years of experience handling insurance-related litigation or appellate matters. • Background in areas such as insurance coverage disputes, bad faith litigation, bodily injury claims, premises liability, property damage, or related civil defense matters preferred. • Exceptional legal research, analytical, and persuasive writing skills. • Strong oral communication and advocacy abilities. • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment. • Highly organized with strong attention to detail. • Capable of working independently while also functioning effectively within a team structure. • Ability to meet productivity and billing expectations.
