BASIC FUNCTION
The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. provides high-dosage tutoring for K through Grade 8 students in math and literacy to close learning gaps. Tutors will work with small groups of scholars, typically in groups of 1-5, in grades K-8 in building skills in math and literacy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Engage with scholars in grades 3 & 4 to build on existing mathematics and/or literacy skills,
- Complete daily records on scholar progress and site needs using the tools provided.
- Use data to drive instruction.
- Communicate regularly with your site coordinator to provide optimum learning- experiences for scholars.
- Participate in coaching from an instructional coach.
- Use an asset-based approach in working with scholars.
- Be responsive and work collaboratively with other tutors and site staff.
- Complete all training.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a learning and teaching capacity.
- New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form)
- Experience with Google suite functions including Google Sheets and Forms.
- Professional skills include attention to detail, timely and proactive communication, and job preparedness.
- Reliable transportation to travel to sites.
- Genuine desire to work with young children in a teaching capacity, building on foundational skills and closing learning gaps using formative and summative data and strong teaching pedagogy.
- Background Clearance- The final offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and employment authorization verification.
- NJ Fingerprint Certificate and local COVID requirements for school at which you are working including any mask rules must be followed while indoors.

- Embedded school days- 3 days a week.
- Work hours to not exceed 17 hrs. per week
- Program will run for 24 weeks (Fall & Spring sessions)
